TIME TO REMOVE THE MASK

One of the most difficult things to do in recovery is number 1 realizing that we are wearing a mask to please the rest of the world. It is time to remove it and show your true colors. It will not be easy to show what is bowling inside, but it is ok to not be ok. It doesn't make you a monster despite how you feel. When you feel anger, it is your body letting you know that you are losing control of yourself, and that you aren't like it. Finding the words for what is going on with you and in your mind will be key in your healing and for others to understand you.

A mask is something that covers our true selves from others eyes so they don't see who we really are or the issues that we have been hiding from them for years. It's easier for us to hide behind this mask then having someone know what goes on inside our minds, because then we would become vulnerable with them and possibly hurt their feelings or even worse rejected by them if they don't accept us as who we really are.

In recovery from traumas, our masks come off slowly as time goes on when we learn how to trust others again with our problems without feeling judged by them because they have their own issues too which makes
